Homemade Salsa Recipe (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Fresh Ingredients

01 - 4 ripe tomatoes, cored and quartered
02 - 1 red onion, peeled and quartered
03 - 3 garlic cloves, peeled
04 - 3 jalapeños, stemmed and seeded (or use 1–2 habanero or serrano peppers for more heat)
05 - ⅓ cup fresh cilantro
06 - 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice

→ Seasonings and Canned Ingredients

07 - 2–3 teaspoons ground cumin
08 - 2–3 teaspoons sugar (optional)
09 - 1½ teaspoons salt
10 - 1 (15 oz) can crushed San Marzano tomatoes
11 - 1 (4.5 oz) can diced green chiles, mild, medium, or hot

# Instructions:

01 - In a food processor, add the fresh tomatoes, onion, garlic, peppers, cilantro, lime juice, cumin, sugar (if using), and salt. Pulse until finely chopped and well blended.
02 - Pour in the crushed tomatoes and diced green chiles. Puree until you reach your preferred salsa texture—mostly smooth but not watery.
03 - Taste and adjust the seasoning with more cumin or sugar if needed. Transfer to a container and refrigerate until ready to serve.

# Notes:

01 - This salsa tastes even better after chilling for a few hours.
02 - Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10–12 days.
