Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Steak & Marinade

01 - 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
02 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
03 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
04 - 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
05 - 1 teaspoon sesame oil
06 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch

→ Vegetables & Aromatics

07 - 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
08 - 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
09 - 1 large onion, sliced
10 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
11 - 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

→ Sauce & Garnish

12 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
13 - 2 tablespoons water
14 - 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
15 - 1 tablespoon honey
16 - 2 green onions, sliced
17 - Sesame seeds

# Instructions:

01 - Mix sliced steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Let marinate 15-20 minutes.
02 - Stir-fry peppers and onions in 1 tablespoon oil until slightly softened, 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
03 - Sear marinated steak in remaining oil in batches, 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
04 - Sauté garlic and ginger 1 minute. Return vegetables and steak to pan. Add water, vinegar, and honey. Simmer 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
05 - Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

# Notes:

01 - Can substitute flank steak with skirt steak, chicken, or tofu
02 - For gluten-free version, use tamari and gluten-free sauces
03 - Keeps in fridge up to 3 days
