Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Place heaping teaspoons onto lined sheet. Freeze for 1 hour until almost solid.

Beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips until just combined.

Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls. Make indents, add frozen cream cheese, cover with second dough ball. Pinch to seal.

Refrigerate assembled cookies while preheating oven to 350°F. Bake 9-12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on sheet 10-15 minutes.
