Classic Pea Salad (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pea Salad

01 - 1 (16 oz) bag frozen green peas
02 - 1⅓ cups mayonnaise
03 - 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
04 - ½ teaspoon salt
05 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
06 - 1 small red onion, chopped
07 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
08 - 1 (2.8 oz) bag real bacon bits (or 8 slices cooked and crumbled bacon)

# Instructions:

01 - Place the frozen peas in a colander and let them sit at room temperature to thaw slightly while you prepare the dressing.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, stir together mayonnaise, sugar, salt, pepper, chopped red onion, shredded cheddar, and bacon bits until well combined.
03 - Add the thawed peas to the bowl and gently fold everything together until evenly coated with the dressing.
04 - Cover the bowl and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to blend.

# Notes:

01 - You can use freshly cooked and crumbled bacon instead of packaged bacon bits.
02 - This salad can be made up to 2 days ahead and stored in the fridge.
