In the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker, stir together the cream of chicken soup, French onion soup, au jus gravy mix, and water until smooth.

Place the cubed steaks into the slow cooker, turning them to coat well in the gravy mixture.

Cover and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours, until the meat is fork-tender.

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Stir this mixture into the slow cooker. You can remove the steaks temporarily to mix if needed, then place them back in.

Turn the slow cooker to high and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until the gravy thickens nicely.
