# Ingredients:

→ Pancake Batter

01 - All-purpose flour (1 cup)
02 - Sugar (1 tablespoon)
03 - Baking soda (1/2 teaspoon)
04 - Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
05 - Baking powder (1/4 teaspoon)
06 - Large egg (1)
07 - Buttermilk (1 cup)

→ Sausage and Frying

08 - Breakfast sausage links (12 ounces, Johnsonville or preferred brand)
09 - Vegetable oil (1 1/2 to 2 cups, for frying)

→ Serving

10 - Powdered sugar (for dusting)
11 - Maple syrup (for drizzling)

# Instructions:

01 - Cook sausage links in a large frying pan. Remove and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
02 - Cut sausage links into 3 pieces. Set aside.
03 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
04 - In a small bowl, whisk egg and buttermilk together until combined.
05 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently. Batter will be lumpy.
06 - In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat.
07 - Dip each piece of sausage into the pancake batter. Add a few pieces at a time to the hot oil. Deep fry until golden brown on all sides.
08 - Remove fried sausage bites with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup.
