Easy Homemade Apple Fritters (Print Version)

01 - All-purpose flour
02 - White whole wheat flour
03 - Brown sugar
04 - Baking powder
05 - Cinnamon
06 - Nutmeg
07 - Allspice
08 - Salt
09 - Butter, cold and cut into pieces
10 - Milk
11 - Egg
12 - Vanilla extract
13 - Chopped apple

→ Glaze

14 - Confectioner's sugar
15 - Milk
16 - Vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together flours, brown sugar, baking powder, spices, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk milk, egg, and vanilla. Add to flour mixture and stir until just combined. Gently fold in chopped apple.
04 - Drop 1/4 cup portions onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 11-13 minutes until bottoms are golden and center is set.
05 - Whisk confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Brush a thin layer of glaze over baked fritters.
06 - Place under broiler for 2-4 minutes until tops turn golden and glaze bubbles. Brush with remaining glaze and let cool.

01 - Substitute all-purpose flour if white whole wheat flour is unavailable
02 - Use tart apples for best flavor
