Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with nonstick foil or parchment and spray with cooking spray.

In a small bowl, combine paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper.

Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Rub seasoning blend all over, including under the skin.

Arrange chicken skin side up on prepared baking sheet. Pour about ¾ cup BBQ sauce into a small bowl and brush chicken lightly on both sides, finishing with skin side up.

Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with reserved sauce using a clean brush. Bake additional 20 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature.

Switch to broiler and broil 2-3 minutes until sauce caramelizes. Remove from oven and let rest 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve with additional sauce for dipping.
