Cheeseburger Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat Layer

01 - 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
02 - 1 pound ground beef
03 - ½ teaspoon salt
04 - Ground black pepper, to taste
05 - Garlic powder, to taste (optional)

→ Cheese Layer

06 - 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

→ Batter

07 - ½ cup Original Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour)
08 - 1 cup whole milk
09 - 2 large eggs

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch glass pie plate with vegetable oil.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, heat a small amount of oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
03 - Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess fat, then season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if using.
04 - Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the prepared pie plate. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
05 - In a small bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix (or flour), milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
06 - Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
07 - Let the pie cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!

# Notes:

01 - For a cheesier pie, add an extra ½ cup of shredded cheese on top before baking.
02 - Swap Cheddar cheese for Monterey Jack or Swiss for a different flavor.
03 - This dish pairs well with a simple side salad or roasted vegetables.
