Stuffed Pepper Skillet (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 pound ground beef
02 - 3 small to medium bell peppers, any color, diced
03 - 1/2 medium onion, diced
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Rice & Sauce

05 - 1/2 cup uncooked Basmati rice
06 - 1 can (15 oz) petite diced tomatoes
07 - 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
08 - 1 cup beef broth
09 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar

→ Seasonings & Toppings

10 - 1 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
11 - 1 teaspoon salt
12 - 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
13 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

# Instructions:

01 - In a large pan over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with salt and pepper until browned. Drain any excess grease.
02 - Stir in the diced bell peppers, onions, garlic, and uncooked rice.
03 - Pour in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and brown sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.
04 - Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
05 - Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover the pan and let it sit for 3-5 minutes until the cheese melts.
06 - Remove from heat and serve warm. Enjoy this one-pot meal as is or with a side of crusty bread!

# Notes:

01 - You can use ground turkey instead of beef for a leaner option.
02 - If you prefer a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
03 - Basmati rice works best, but any long-grain rice can be used with slight adjustments in cooking time.
